Treatment plans do not exist in isolation. Our culture and society affect the health outcomes of our patients. In fact, we know that only 20% of health outcomes are attributable to clinical care. Health behaviors, socioeconomic factors, and a patient's physical environment account for 80% of an individual’s health.

Changes in our society create changes in our patients’ lives, which in turn affect their physical and mental wellbeing.

Can medicine exist distinctly from its environment? What, exactly, is the role of physicians and physician assistants in the 21st century in advocating for change? How proactive should medical providers be in leading the way on social issues?

REGISTER NOW to join your OMA colleagues on September 29, 2018 at the Portland Marriott Downtown Waterfront. Event emcee Megan Furnari, MD, MS will lead attendees through a full day of education and community surrounding some of the most urgent questions medical providers must confront in treating real patients in the real world. Up to 4.5 CME credits available.
