The Excellence in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion award honors a clinician who has contributed outstanding accomplishments in advancing diversity, inclusion, and equity in the healthcare workforce, or improving health equity for people in historically marginalized groups.

Nandita Gupta, M.D., MBA |Chief Medical Officer, PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center

Dr. Gupta, a renowned physician executive and accomplished cardiologist, has over a decade of healthcare leadership and two decades of clinical expertise across diverse settings. Currently, she serves as Chief Medical Officer at PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center.
Dr. Gupta was previously the Associate Chief Medical officer at OHSU Health Hillsboro Medical Center; was a faculty member at the Knight Cardiovascular Institute; and as Medical Director, was pivotal in founding and leading the Cardiovascular Services division at the OHSU Health Hillsboro Medical Center.
Dr. Gupta is highly regarded in the Portland healthcare landscape for her leadership, work ethic, clinical expertise, and team-building skills. She is deeply committed to health equity and conducts research on structural racism among Hispanic patients receiving care for chronic disease. Outside her practice she serves as President of the American Heart Association of Oregon and Southwest Washington, focusing on advocacy to reduce disparities in cardiovascular care.
