Physician Assistant-Citizen of the Year

The Physician Assistant-Citizen of the Year award is presented to a physician assistant who has gone above and beyond the call of duty to improve the lives of their patients, to advance the practice of medicine, and to strengthen the Oregon communities in which they live and serve.

Elizabeth Crawford Rowe, D.M.Sc., PA-C |Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine, OHSU School of Medicine

Dr. Crawford Rowe is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at Oregon Health & Science University School of Medicine, where she serves as a clinical educator and physician assistant. Dr. Crawford Rowe's areas of expertise and research include quality improvement and patient safety, innovative curriculum development, and healthcare advocacy, specifically in decreasing unintentional bias and discrimination in resource allocation during natural disasters. She holds a DMSc from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions and an MS from Northeastern University. Dr. Crawford Rowe is actively involved in humanitarian organizations including Team Rubicon, a veteran-led disaster response organization, Camp Rosenbaum, a community-building nonprofit that provides life-enhancing opportunities for low-income young people through mentoring, camp, and athletic programs, the National Veterans' Wheelchair Games, and Zeb's Wish Equine Sanctuary.
