Oregon Medical Association's Amphetamine Task Force
History
The Oregon Medical Association's Amphetamine Task Force was established by the OMA president at the 2005 Interim House of Delegates. The task force is the result of the increasing problem of meth and amphetamine abuse in our state. Physicians recognize the problem but seem to have a variety of ideas on what role they should play. The task force will be discussing the role of the physician and what the medical community can do in addressing this abuse, by focusing on physician education through a variety of avenues and supporting legislation that deals with meth, being mindful not to duplicate efforts.
