The practice of medicine in Oregon has changed dramatically over the past 200 years. The goal of the Oregon Medical History project, launched in 2001, is to educate and inform Oregonians and others about this long and unique history through a creative, four-part video documentary.
This series will feature interviews with more than 70 experts in the field, and cover topics beginning with the accounts of Native American medical care and herbal medicine, to physician leaders in the territory, to the establishment of hospitals and development of medical education, to the current and future state of medicine and health care in Oregon.
The project is being funded through tax-deductible contributions, grants and other donations.
