Teen Pregnancy
OMA should play an active role in efforts to reduce the teen pregnancy rate in Oregon by urging its members to work with local school boards to educate parents and adolescents about the health risks associated with teen pregnancy; to involve themselves in discussions with local school boards about programs and information offered to students regarding adolescent sexuality and teen pregnancy; and to act as resources of information for sexuality and health issues.
OMA supports the continued funding of school based health centers to provide contraceptive counseling, examinations and supplies.
Adopted at the annual House of Delegates, 1995.
