Sexual Violence, Intimate Partner Violence and Healthcare - Supporting Survivors

The OMA endorses the CDC definitions of Sexual Violence and Intimate Partner Violence. The OMA affirms its support for survivors of Sexual Violence and Intimate Partner Violence and the provision of prompt, patient-centered, trauma-informed, and sensitive healthcare to all Sexual Violence and Intimate Partner Violence survivors. And, the OMA affirms its support of efforts to implement standardized, evidence-based education on the problem of Sexual Violence and Intimate Partner Violence and best practices for appropriately treating patients who are survivors of Sexual Violence and/or Intimate Partner Violence at all levels of physician and physician assistant education, training and practice.
