Marijuana

The OMA supports further study into the effects of marijuana use on health and public safety. The OMA will gather and disseminate appropriate information to its members regarding scientific, regulatory, and public health information on the effects, use, and abuse of cannabis.

T
he OMA supports efforts to reclassify marijuana from a Schedule I controlled substance to a lower classification that allows for legitimate medical research on benefits and long term effects of marijuana on the health of individuals.

OMA supports the controlling of cannabis advertising to protect the interests of minors. If a Retail c Establishment sponsor a charitable, sports, or similar event that the Retail Marijuana Establishment shall not engage in advertising at, or in connection with, such an event unless the Retail Marijuana Establishment has reliable evidence that no more than 25 percent of the audience at the event and/or viewing advertising in connection with the event is reasonably expected to be under the age of 21.
