Membership Eligibility and Sections
Physicians
Physicians are eligible for membership in the OMA provided they possess the academic degree Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) and have a current Oregon license to practice medicine. Please review on the application classifications for physicians practicing full-time, part-time, or in their first year of practice following residency.
Residents and Fellows
Resident and fellows are eligible for membership provided they possess the academic degree Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) and are engaged in postgraduate training in an institution approved for such training by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medicine Education. The
OMA Student Section is active, meets regularly, and encourages participation by residents and fellows.
Medical Students
Medical Students are eligible for membership provided they are a full-time student currently enrolled in an educational program working towards the academic degree Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO). The
OMA Student Section is active and meets regularly.
Physician Assistants
Physician Assistants are eligible for membership provided they have a current Oregon license as a physician assistant. The
OMA Physician Assistant Section is active and meets regularly.
Physician Assistant Students
Physician Assistant students are eligible for membership provided they are a full-time student currently enrolled at an accredited educational institution in good standing located in Oregon. The
OMA Student Section is active and meets regularly.
Spouses and Partners
Physicians' and PAs' Spouses and Partners are eligible for OMA membership as an affiliate member through the OMA Alliance.
