OMA Conference Unveils Speaker Slate



May 5, 2019 The Oregon Medical Association, the state’s largest professional society engaging in advocacy, policy, community-building, and networking opportunities for Oregon’s physicians, medical students, physician assistants, and physician assistant students, has announced its slate of keynote speakers for the association's premiere event, the 2019 OMA Annual Conference. Registration is now open.

Titled Speaking with One Voice: the House of Medicine's Critical Role, the event, scheduled for September 28, 2019 at the Hilton Portland Downtown, will feature a full day of engaging education workshops, panels, and speakers. Registration is now open.

The OMA is honored to welcome Patrice Harris, MD, MA, President of the American Medical Association, to deliver the conference's opening remarks. Dr. Harris will speak on the topic of "Physician Leadership and the Urgency of the Moment in Medicine."

The keynote address "Connect and be Heard: Make a Difference in Healthcare with Social Media" will be delivered by Kevin Pho, MD, Founder and Editor of the KevinMD.com blog. And the keynote address "Using your Voice and Agency to Impact Systems and Policies" will be presented by Alisha Moreland-Capuia, MD, ABPN, ABMS, Executive Director of the OHSU Avel Gordly Center for Healing.
