The Oregon Medical Association recognizes exemplary members of our community each year through our annual awards program. Nominations are accepted during each awards cycle, and the awardees are honored at the Annual Meeting of the members. The deadline for submitting nominations is August 1, 2026.
To be eligible for an award, one must be nominated by a peer, colleague, team, or community member with the nomination supported by two or three individuals or organizations.

- Your name
- Your email address and phone number
- The name and contact information of the nominee
- A bio, resumé, or Curriculum Vitae of the nominee. The strongest applications for awards include a resume or Curriculum Vitae of the nominee's education and professional experience. Click here for resources from the AMA to support your nominee in developing a standout medical Curriculum Vitae.
- A letter of why you think the nominee deserves the award including two or three additional signatories. The letter should include specific examples of the nominee's professional and civic accomplishments and should be written from your perspective and experience regarding the nominee, providing in detail the individual's unique and significant contributions.
Doctor-Citizen of the Year Award
Do you know a physician who has generously donated their time to community activities and who has tirelessly worked to further medicine? If so, we encourage you to nominate the physician for the OMA’s Doctor-Citizen Award. This award, which began in 1957, recognizes the powerful impact a physician can have on our quality of life. It honors someone who has gone above and beyond the call of duty to improve the lives of their patients, to advance the practice of medicine, and to strengthen the Oregon communities in which they live and serve. Physician Associate-Citizen of the Year Award
Do you know a physician associate who has generously donated their time to community activities and who has tirelessly worked to further medicine? If so, we encourage you to nominate the PA for the OMA’s Physician Associate-Citizen Award. This award, which began in 2018, recognizes the powerful impact a physician associate can have on our quality of life. It honors someone who has gone above and beyond the call of duty to improve the lives of their patients, to advance the practice of medicine, and to strengthen the Oregon communities in which they live and serve.

JEDI Award
The JEDI Award was established in 2023 and recognizes physicians, physician associates, residents, and/or medical/PA students with outstanding accomplishments in advancing justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion in the healthcare workforce, and/or improving health equity for people with historically marginalized group identities. Work in these areas may include activity as an educator, mentor, clinician providing direct care, clinician working to build care delivery systems, or significant accomplishments as an advocate in healthcare systems and/or the legislative process. Nominations should include a description of how the individual has advanced equity and diversity.
