Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS)

In the event that an HIV-infected physician demonstrates symptoms of cognitive compromise, he or she should be treated like any other distressed and/or impaired physician. Detection of and intervention on behalf of impaired physicians should remain the shared responsibility of the medical profession.
