Protecting Patients From Immigration Enforcement in Health Care Settings
The OMA advocates for and supports policy excluding all federal agents and officers pursuing immigration enforcement actions from health care settings (including parking lots). This is to protect patients, patient families, caregivers, healthcare workers and others as well as to prevent interference with access to both acute and chronic medical care meant to save lives, reduce suffering, and mitigate risks for all people served at healthcare facilities.
