Accreditation
OMA supports the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals and Health Care Organization (JCAHCO) and its voluntary accreditation system for hospitals and has urged that the JCAHCO maintain its independence from unreasonable governmental and non-governmental influence.

Reaffirmed at the annual House of Delegates, 2011.
Oregon AMA delegates should propose that all future JCAHCO recommendations be evaluated and tested prior to nationwide implementation, and that JCAHCO submit documentation that each recommendation and requirement will improve the quality of medical care, and adhere to the principle of cost containment.
