Physical Activity and Arthritis

Physicians, physician assistants, and other health care providers play a critical role in encouraging patients to become more physically active. Yet, many providers simply do not have time or feel equipped to offer in-depth lifestyle change counseling.

The OMA has partnered with the Oregon Health Authority to create an arthritis and physical activity toolkit as part of our Steering Toward Health campaign.

Below you will find a toolkit with resources to help you empower your patients to increase their physical activity.  The materials highlight the evidence-based Walk With Ease program. Walk With Ease was originally designed for patients with arthritis, but it can be beneficial for patients with a variety of chronic conditions and barriers to physical activity.
